Different Options For A Nose Piercing

Posted on

Other than the ears, the nose is one of the most common places that people get pierced. During any given day, it's common to see at least one person with their nose pierced. If you like the idea of wearing a piece of jewelry on this part of your body, you may wish to contact a local body piercing studio and set an appointment for a nose piercing. Before doing so, it's a good idea to decide exactly where you want the piercing to be. There are all sorts of options to consider, so take a look at your face in the mirror and try to picture how a few different nose piercings might look. Here are three options.

Nostril

The nostril is arguably the most popular type of nose piercing, with people of many different ages wearing a ring or a stud on this part of their body. If you favor a nostril piercing, you have lots of different decisions to make. For example, you'll want to decide whether you want the piercing through your left nostril or your right one. You can also choose the exact placement of the piercing. Some people opt for it in a central location, while others favor it closer to the edge of their nose.

Septum

Another nose-piercing option to think about is getting pierced through the septum. The septum is the part of your nose that divides your two nostrils. Whereas people can commonly wear studs or rings when they get a nostril piercing, it's typical to wear a ring with a septum piercing so that the jewelry is visible. Having a pierced septum can create visual balance on your face instead of having a piercing on either side of your nose. If you occasionally wish to remove the jewelry for a short period of time, the piercing hole will be difficult to see in this position.

Bridge

Although it's less common than the above two locations, some people favor getting a piercing on the bridge of their nose. This is the part of the nose that is between your eyes. It's common to wear a barbell-style piece of jewelry when you have this piercing, and you may find that this look is a good way for you to express yourself. You have the ability to choose how high or low on the bridge the piercing occurs. If you wear eyeglasses, you might want to choose a spot in which the jewelry will be visible above or below the frame of your glasses.

Keep these tips in mind when looking for body piercing services near you.
